Bluninja's Review

Children's Fiction ~ Star Wars The Clone Wars: Stories of Light and Dark  Review by: Bluninja29 Opening Thoughts: Star Wars The Clone Wars: Stories of Light and Dark is a collection of stories based off the TV show Star Wars: The Clone Wars (2003 TV series.) It has 11 Short Stories all based off episodes from the TV show. with more view points that we didn't get to see in the show. One of the Short stories im are gonna look at is about Count Dooku.   Story: Count Dooku was surprised attacked by the Republic.   Presentation: I do like how these are in the characters point of view like Count Dooku. I also like how all the stories are based off the show. What I didn't like is how these are short stories, but it is a nitpick so I won't get crazy over it. I honestly liked this book. If you are a star wars nerd or want to give your kid a star wars book to read. then this is the book for you! 4/5

Running

Image
This is book #4 in the Supernatural Consultant series.  This book should not be read as a standalone novel.  To be understood fully, and to avoid spoilers, I recommend reading this really imaginative series in order.   Nickel is a water elemental dragon.  He is now working at the Supernatural Consultant firm. He wants to find out who or what is messing with the current weather.  His searches may put him in danger, though.   Platinum is on the run.  He has to hide from those mad scientists who have made his life miserable.  If only he could get far away fast enough.  Little does he know danger is lurking.......   This was the latest installment of one of the most creative series I have had the pleasure to read.  The characters all have such unique powers, personalities and names.  I enjoyed learning more about some of the more rare dragons in this story.  I really cannot wait for the next book!  I give this a 4/5...

Stronger

This is the 2nd book in The Weaver's Circle series.   This book can be read as a standalone novel.  To avoid spoilers, and to fully understand this incredible and sexy series, I recommend reading them in order. Baer is a Weaver.  He believes the man he has stumbled upon in the middle of a crisis, is another brother.  So he shuts down his feelings that are starting to crop up.  He knows how important it is that The Weaver's Circle win this fight. Wiley is actually an innocent bystander who makes comic novels.  He is an incredibly talented artist and is gaining so much from learning from Baer and the others.  Real life does not usually have Superheroes saving the world - but in this case he has found some that do this every day. Wiley is an amazing character all on his own. When I read this story I was pleased and tickled that this terrific series had more than just straight up shapeshifters going on.  The writers are giving us  a great series ...

Yearn

This is book #4, in The Game Changers series .  This book can be read as a standalone novel.  For reader enjoyment and to avoid spoilers, I recommend reading this series in order.   Eric is a goalie who is on his last season. He has never had to deal with this before, and he is all out of sorts.  Now he can be who he needs to be, love who he wants to love.     Kyle tells himself he will find someone his own age and be happy.  Then he meets again the man that makes his heart pound, and all his plans fade away.  Can he stick to his guns on this one?  Or will a certain hockey player blow his plans out of the way?   This was a definite sexy book with a slow burn twist.  I loved how the characters seemed obvious to be together.  I also loved the humor, the sparks, and the sexy thrum of heat throughout the entire story.  Such amazing characters, with definite qualities that show they are both individuals and meant to be a c...

Sultry

Image
Elena is not sure what to do when meeting her blind date on Valentine's Day.  He is sitting alone in a corner, and he is hotter than she had anticipated.  If she does not go through with it, however, her family will only make her more miserable.   Jack is sick of everyone talking about him.  Life has already been hard up to this point.  Making eyes at a sexy librarian for one dinner won't hurt.  Then when he gets to know her, will he be able to let her go?   This was such a sexy look into such a wasted holiday. I found myself laughing, crying, and unable to put the story down.  Such a sultry atmosphere with the sparks so loud between the main characters I almost didn't hear what they said!  Really good read.  Cannot wait for the next installment of  The Game Changers series .  I give this book a 4/5 Kitty's Paws UP!     ***This early copy was given by Netgalley and its publishers in exchange for an honest revie...

Surprise

Image
This is book #2, in The Mixed Six Pack series.   This book can be read as a standalone novel.  For reader enjoyment, and to understand the series, I recommend reading the series in order.   This absolutely slow burn begins with the lawyer meeting the Psych student under what is supposed to be false pretenses.  Then it isn't.  Dylan is already enamored with Kama from the beginning, despite the warning from his client.   Kama is this close to getting her degree. She is finishing her thesis, and Dylan is probably going to be the last bit of research.  Her head warns herself, says she should stay away.  But there is just something about him.....   Lots of surprises in store for the reader.  With an excellent story, incredibly deep and rich characters, this story starts out so slow but with each chapter builds more pieces.  I will not give spoilers.  Each thread of this book builds and builds.  I give this book a 3/5 Kitty's Pa...

Different

Image
Lots of changes in the small kingdom of Bulvania.  The former King has passed, and they are looking for a replacement. Young Raymond is not sure he is the right choice.  He has already lived a life of seclusion.   Logan, being tugged along by his father, is not sure he wants to even see Bulvania.  He thinks spending any time there will mean being less himself. His appreciation for fine looking things may help him change his mind.   I found the book started out pretty well.  The explanations, while a bit weak, at least caught my interest enough to stick around to find out more.  Then it just got weird with no warning.  I am not a spoiler type of person so I will just leave it there.  I will say I had hoped to have more story base.  I felt like it was getting rushed and absolutely struggled to get to the end.  I would not really recommend this one to my readers.  I know that is rare, but we cannot love them all.  I...
