This is the 3rd book in the Cedar Ridge series .   This book can be read as a standalone novel.  For reader enjoyment and full understanding, please read in order. Jacob returns like the prodigal son, only to find there is someone right outside his door who would rather be left alone herself.  Sophie has wounds that go deep and keep her from opening up, much like he does.  They truly are a set match. Sophie and Jacob both have secrets and pain that they hide from the world.  Right from the start, they have trouble hiding their feelings for each other.  Can someone who relies only on themselves ever learn to lean on another person?  They both need to meet halfway to make this relationship real. This is book # 2 in the Cedar Ridge series .  It can be read on its own, but the reader will find the inside jokes and such are better to understand, if you read them in the order the author has intended.  I recommend this, since these books are all terrific! Bailey met Hudson at the resort he works for.  It is a family endeavor for Hud.  Bailey just wants to complete the mural his mother has hired her to do.  He is not sure who to blame - her or his mother. Hudson is just one of the many abandoned children by his father who live at the resort now.  He has his family, but he has his share of guilt also.  After learning about the tragedy that Bailey has gone through, he is unsure how to move forward.  Does he want to move forward?
