Kitty's Book Spot!

Simon had one night with the man of his dreams.  Knowing he will never see him again, he tried the number given only to find it fake.  Jokes on both of us, what we felt was real.   Luke has thought of nothing else in the six years since he had Simon all to himself.  He is saddened by the fact Simon never called him.  Living a life in the public eye, he feels lonely and that he can never trust anyone completely.   This story was very gripping.  A tale of two souls who should have been together and lost so much time.  I was seriously caught right away and had to know the end.  I give this a 4/5 Kitty's Paws UP!

This is book # 2, in the  Eternal Flame series .  This book can be read as a standalone novel.  For reader enjoyment and understanding of the series, I recommend reading in order. Tim & Nicky have been together for a long time.  So when things get odd, and turn the door to suspicious, he tries to give his man the benefit of the doubt.  He has many people in his life who do not understand his relationship, and they all think he should walk away. Nicky tries hard to make Tim feel loved.  If only Tim had known what he was planning.  He would have been able to help him sooner.  As the evidence piles up, can they stay strong against the strain? This series is definitely hot.  My biggest complaint was that this story could have been longer.  I felt a serious rush there at the end.  The story is complete, and moves right along.  I just felt like I wanted more.  I give this book a 2/5 Kitty's Paws UP! *...

Kyle & Rick do not get along.  Rick is very snappy and impatient with Kyle.  He appears to be offended he is being bothered.  This is sad, considering Kyle was Rick's hero for a day at least. Rick is just different.  From a different culture, region, country, etc.  They just need to learn to communicate on a level that works between them.  The attraction is certainly there for both sides, and this helps pave the way. This story seems hot and cold.  I found myself wondering if they should even get together.  I was just not prepared for the personality clashes.  Overall, a quick and simple read.  I give this story a 3/5 Kitty's Paws UP! ***I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy of this book.

Jeremiah is shocked to find his current beau wants him to spy on his rival, by hooking up with him.  Since he has wanted a commitment from this man, he agrees to do so.  Then he finds out how perfect Chris is for him. Chris is attracted to Jeremiah, even before he knows who he is.  Then he actively pursues him.  He goes after what he wants.  Chris now wants Jeremiah. My first reaction to this scenario was, "Who does that?"  I have read love triangles before but this was a complicated twist I never saw coming.  There is a real sweet spot in this story with the pursuit of this vulnerable man.  I just had a hard time stomaching the original boyfriend using the guy like he did.  I give this story a 2/5 Kitty's Paws UP! ***This early copy was given voluntarily for an honest review.

Wyatt thinks he has finally found the perfect man.  Who knew an app could help out with these kinds of things?  There are secrets that his new man will not reveal.  What will happen with everything gets real? Lincoln has things he feels he needs to hide.  He has a very public alter ego.  The private him is thrilled to catch Wyatt's interest.  Can they compromise enough to find a future? These guys click right from the start!  The sexual tension, the heat, the banter.... it is all so very good.  There is always an obstacle, however, and these two have to leap over the elephant in the room.  I really enjoyed reading about these two characters.  I give this story a 3/5 Kitty's Paws UP! ***This early copy was given in exchange for an honest review only.

Wynn has been with Holden for a decade, and he puts up with quite a bit to be able to be with him.  Holden has a very public job, and Wynn must stay private.  This is a tricky subject for them. Along comes some surprises, that were not what Wynn signed up for.  He meets someone new that he is attracted to, and then begins the actual love triangle.  This is where Wynn must choose what is really right for him and his future. This story was a challenge for me.  You get to where you root for the couple and then the surprises kick in and it all goes - boom!  In this book we have many outside factors, and it made the story both fun and frustrating.  Always love this author's stories, though.  Keeps me entertained.  I give this book a 3/5 Kitty's Paws UP! ***I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy of this book.

Sonny finally meets someone online that makes him pause.  Luke is a business owner with a great sense of humor.  Will it still be good with him once he finds out what Sonny does or a living? Luke is all in until Sonny's job comes between them.  He is not sure if he can trust him again.  He wants to believe what he says is the truth.  If only he hadn't been lied to before..... This story is quite fun and filled with a lot of humor.  I found it a little bit predictable.  The characters mesh well, and the pace is good.  I give this story a 2/5 Kitty's Paws UP! ***I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy of this book.

Richard meets Val outside his place of work.  Everyone around the office assumes he is a doing good hippy or homeless man.  He talks to Richard each day, however, and they soon become friends. Val has many secrets that Richard ignores or does not want to know.  As they get to know one another better, he discovers he is more of a man he could see in his future.  With the stunning attraction and their pasts almost behind them, is it possible to find happiness? I thought this was well put together.  The pace seems a little fast, but romance happens in many avenues.  I likes that the characters mesh well together and made each other better men.  I give this sweet story a 3/5 Kitty's Paws UP! ***I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy of this book.

This is a book bundle.  Made up of 5 books the author has out now.  I have chosen to review 2 of them, and encourage you to read the works he offers.  They are delightful to read.  They can be read in any particular order. A Love Story  is about Alex, an elementary school teacher who cannot find a job.  He ends up working for Giles mom.  She is concerned since her son is eccentric.  There is a ton of humor, and some food mentioned that just made me really hungry.  Very good book and an easy afternoon read, if you are looking for one.  I give this a 4/5 Kitty's Paws UP! Al, short for Alchemy, I know - right?  Poor character.  It's sure different.  Anyway, Al has several men in his circle he could choose.  He currently has a love interest who takes him for granted, is already cheating with him on his partner, and is kinda testy when pushed. Finn is someone who believes in magic, the universe, and is a touch jaded.  Hugh is a mentor who has some serious issues.  In the ways of love, however, we are not always thinking with a logical part of our brain. I found this story to be full of surprises for the reader!  Each character has its own quirky and individual personality.  That was the best part of the book.  I had a hard time with a bit of the fact that I felt the main character was taken advantage of.  That could just be my own interpretation, of course.  Overall a funny read.  I give this story a 3/5 Kitty's Paws UP! ***I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy of this book.

This is book # 3 in the Drop Dead series .  This book should not be read as a standalone.  This series goes in order and should be read as such.  This helps with understanding the characters, as well as the series. Geo and Lex's story continues as they brave the father's invitation to meet in Aspen.  It is a testimony of trust and worry as they know they will face adversity in the form of Geo's dad.  Can they weather the storm that may be stronger than the snow outside? Lex wants to show Geo that he can be trusted to help handle his father.  When the worst hapens, they must lean on one another to get back home and safe. This is book # 2 in the Drop Dead series.  This book is not meant to be read on its own.  For reader enjoyment and understanding, please read this series in order intended. George & Alex's story continues as we check back in to see how they are doing with a long distance relationship.  Geo is frustrated, since he cannot seem to get Alex on to respond.  He is getting a better relationship with his brother again, which is good. Lex is afraid to tell Geo the truth.  What will happen when he comes clean?  Will Geo see that he is not the man he thought he was? They both have secrets that need to be shared. George AKA "Geo" and his best friend Alex AKA "Lex" are well known for their podcast about True Crime.  It has humor, and talks about things others do not like to discuss.  Many family members are not good about it - and dating?  Forget it. Lex and Geo have never met.  They talk every day, and their friendship is solid.  Others find this weird, of course.  No one really understands these two but them.  Love must come next, right? Sincere and sweet in so many ways.  This story made me laugh, cry and just all around feel.  I loved it and I look forward to more books in the Drop Dead series and about these characters.  I give this story a 4/5 Kitty's Paws UP! ***I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy of this book.

Jonah & Davie met in high school.  Jonah always stood up for Davie, as he was bullied a lot.  Being different apparently makes you a target. Davie, never thought he was worth anything.  Never really had love.  So when Jonah tells him he is amazing and perfect.  He has always believed in him. This is a sweet and almost bittersweet story.  These characters are fun to read about and the character development is like a prize.  This was definitely worth the read.  I give this book a 3/5 Kitty's Paws UP! ****I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy of this book.

Dominic meets Bo after a bad breakup.  They find they have a lot in common and an attraction that only adds to their friendship.  While getting to know one another, Dominic's ex shows up and makes a mess of things. This book was full of surprises, mishaps, problems, and thrown in the middle was some serious heat.  The electricity between Bo and Dominic is very sexy and sizzles.  Bo is a true friend, maybe even a hero.  I found myself enjoying this story very much.  I give this book a 3/5 Kitty's Paws UP! ***I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy of this book.

Henry & Ray are best friends who are both socially awkward.  When they try to meet new people, they stumble upon Ben.  The new friendships that come from the meeting help all three men. Ben has many secrets and a past he is still feeling pain from.  Henry and Ray can relate to this - they have secrets of their own.  Pain is just a memory, if you can replace it with love. Sure & Carlos meet on the bus to the same event.  It is easy conversation, easy on the eyes, and quickly easy friends.  When Carlos agrees to help photograph a special moment, the plan is in place. Carlos freaks when it all goes wrong.  How do you react to something like that?  Sure is hurt, and needs someone by his side.  Is Carlos what he is looking for?  The travel is fun to read about, the characters are hot and serious. Ethan did not want to go home for a wedding that will never take place.  Nathan had to find a needle in a haystack.  Can them finding each other be love? Ethan is trying to save face.  Nathan just wants to help Ethan, out of the goodness of his heart.  But when a meddling family think they are helping..... Tom & Jay have a history that goes back to their school days.  One where Jay bullying Tom makes for a miserable time.  Now they have to work together too? Jay has secrets.  A whole closet of them.  Can he learn to make friends and be the man he thinks Tom already is?  Can Tom help him with those secrets? This book has many surprises inside.  I loved the characters development.  I thought the sibling banter was fantastic!  Such a great read and one I recommend.  I give this story a 4/5 Kitty's Paws UP!
