Kitty's Book Spot!

Landon absolutely did not want to do this calendar shoot.  If the photographer had not known how to coax him out of his shell, it could have been a disaster.  Afterwards, he realizes he is attracted to the quiet photographer and wants to spend more time with him. Bailey is immediately attracted to Landon.  He appreciated the qualities that make him the shy almost recluse of a professor that he is.  After spending time gaming together - they realize this could be worth a shot.  Now if they can just put past pain and hurt behind them. I felt like these characters were a great mix.  I loved the reference to the amazing Gaymers series also!  This story unfolds at a rather steady pace.  The heat is obvious, but the solution is not.  As always, this author brings us a book that makes us smile.  Even after the storm.  I give this story a 3/5 Kitty's Paws UP! ***This ARC copy was given in exchange for an honest review.

Beckett meets Lee since he wants to be the entertainment at his restaurant.  Lee is kind of exasperated at first that his sister uses this as a solution for the sales falling.  Then something unexpected happens. Lee is suddenly interested in Beckett, and he is not sure what to do about it.  I would have not had a problem with the trope itself.  It for me, was that it was all so sudden.  The book was short, and maybe for me I like the slow burn.  I just really had to push myself to finish this one.  I give this one 2/5 Kitty's Paws UP! ***I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy of this book.

Jordan and Rick have been best friends a long time.  Now they are headed in different directions for college.  Jordan feels bad that he never told Rick how he feels.  He is afraid of rejection from someone so important to him. Rick has a surprise to tell Jordan, of his own.  Jordan cannot believe the words coming out of his mouth.  Does he just want to experiment?  Is this a joke?  It hurts when the love of your life wants to play the field. Jordan and Rick cannot resist the attraction that is pulling at them.  They have always been there for each other.  Why would now be any different?  The second they kiss..... Such an amazingly sweet story with a lot of heat.  I was shocked at the real emotion the author has the characters show us.  I was hooked.  Cannot wait to read the next book in the series.  I give this story a 3/5 Kitty's Paws UP!

Andre and Max meet when they must go below the earths surface together.  Andre has samples to take, and Max is the diver who must approve of his skill.  The attraction is mutual, hot and immediate. Max cannot show any weakness among the men he works with.  He is afraid for them to find out he is interested in men.  His interest in Andre is not easy to hide.  He wants him more than breath. Andre is a temptation Max is not sure he is willing to take a chance on.  Andre does not want a man in the closet.  He knows he is worth more than that.  He also knows he cannot choose for him. Such a sweet and interesting story.  The book is full of fun facts and interesting parts about Antarctica.  I learned a lot.  I loved the characters finding each other.  I give this book a 3/5 Kitty's Paws UP!

James Deacon met Trevor "Trav" Barrow when Trav came to visit his sister in the bar she works at.  Deacon had just officially retired from SWAT, and was drinking the decision away.  The attraction was immediate and mutual. Trav is gun-shy about relationships and never stays in one place for long.  He trusts only one person.  His sister.  Now, he has these feelings for Deacon that can only be wanting more. Deacon is hot for Trav right from the start.  If he can learn to not scare Trav away, maybe that had a real chance.  He sees the future they could have in his dreams, but Trav is not known for sticking around. Interesting storyline with a whole mystery wrapped inside.  It was like Christmas came early!  There was satire, heat, suspense, and so much more.  I give this book a 3/5 Kitty's Paws UP!

Cameron and Lucas have just sixty five hours to please the boss with an advertising campaign that could make or break their business.  There is a catch, they have to work together.  Usually at odd with one another, this is a stretch for both of them. Cameron is typically put off by Lucas and tries to avoid him.  Lucas could care less what anyone else thinks.  Cameron has been insufferable since the day he started.  Can they learn to work together and actually show their strengths to make it happen? This was such a magical book!  I found it funny and very entertaining.  I loved how the guys worked together.  I loved the amazing chemistry.  The sparks were flying right off the page!  I give this story a 5/5 Kitty's Paws UP!

This is just a quick little read about a guy who runs away form home to go to college.  His parents do not approve, and he needs to make his own way. He runs literally into Ben.  Joel is not sure what to say or do as this new life is very brand spanking new.  Ben helps him heal a bit and learn the ropes. I found it to be a sweet book and just a simple 27 pages.  The story is sound and the characters are fun to read about.  I give this book a 3/5 Kitty's Paws UP!

Michael and Dax keep meeting under less than ideal circumstances.  Michael is quick to assure Dax this is not normal.  Dax is very understanding. Dax has moved to this small town to start over after tragedy rocked his world.  In this new life he is creating, he wants to make friends and be kind to his neighbors.  Along the way, Michael's son makes all of this come together. Michael and Dax may have more than they counted on.  As they find out more about each other's lives, they may get more than they ask for.  It is a good thing they are good friends too. A very moving story.  I was riveted, and could not put it down!  The characters and the story are both challenging and sweet.  I happily give this book a 4/5 Kitty's Paws UP! ***This ARC was given in exchange for an honest review.

This is book # 8 in the A Matter of Time series .   This book should not be read as a standalone.  While it could be, if you are just wanting a nibble, the book is part of an ongoing series.  To not read it in order is to miss out on the epic love story. Jory and Sam are finally getting married in Chicago.  Where they previously had a domestic partnership and married in Canada, it is Jory's dream to be married at home.  Sam wants to give Jory his dream. Jory is also being targeted by a madman.  While they are looking forward to a continued future of family and wedded bliss, he is again in danger.  Guess he really is a trouble magnet, as Sam calls him. Such a great, if not quick book.  Good addition to the series.  I sure hope the author continues to have us stop in and see what they are up to.  Amazing story and characters - I enjoy reading about them every time.  I give this story a 5/5 Kitty's Paws UP!

Jason Garcia met Abe Green and it was instant attraction.  He could not wait to get him alone.  Jason is a bit of a player since his divorce.  Being single for him is an excuse to play and party.   Abe is a good person, who has had a birthday.  He is going to make Jason his birthday present to himself.  He does not usually do one-night stands.  He makes an exception this time. Jason returns and makes one night into three.  Before you know it they are seeking each other out.  Jason figures if he has found someone he likes, why not?  Abe knows the drill and does not ask for much. Abe is already starting to feel things for Jason.  Jason has kept so much to himself he is not sure they will ever move on from just sex together.  Can it ever be more? This story is so good!  It is moving, and honest.  I feel for each character and the development comes along nicely.  I love the banter and the surprise...

Dex and Sloane's story forges ahead in the 4th book for the THIRDS series.   The fight to protect humans and therians alike continues.  We pick up in this book right where we left off in the 3rd book.  You really can read this book on its own, but for full read enjoyment - please read in order. With two of the most veteran team members injured and out of commission, the team is told to go on leave.  This does not site well with Dex, who wants to protect those he loves.  He knows the next strike by this villain will be to someone he cares about. Dex ends up going around the rules and lying to everyone in order to investigate the old fashioned way he did when he was back at the HPF.  He take it so seriously that the man he loves has been hurt - he cannot see beyond getting this guy behind bars or killing him.   Sloane, keeps some things to himself as well and their relationship they were just building, starts to suffer.  Ash is...

Dex and Sloane's story continues in the 3rd book for the THIRDS series.   We see more of the characters we loved from the first 2 books, and we get to know more of the story and back story as to how the therians came about.  This book can be read as a standalone, but for your reading enjoyment - I recommend reading all of this series in order. Dex is fitting right in with the THIRDS agents now.  Sloane and Dex still have to hide their relationship due to policy.  We also find out that there is a mole somewhere in the THIRDS agents.   Dex is learning that he loves Sloane now and cannot imagine his life without him.  By nature, Sloane wants to be free and may never give him the kind of relationship he craves with him.  So he keeps his feelings to himself.
