This is book #2, in the Dirty Martini Running Club series.   This book can be read as a standalone novel.  For reader understanding, and to avoid spoilers, I recommend reading this sexy series in order. Hazel finds out not long after taking a new position at a new location, that her nemesis is speaking there as well.  Now she is second guessing her choice to change employers.  Then she gets to know the man she thinks of as her enemy.  Or does she? Corban has an equal hate for Hazel.  Now he has a face and body to put to the name.  If only he wasn't outrageously attracted to the enemy.  He wants to kiss her right?  Or does he want to make her mad?  He cannot decide.  Is is possible to want both? I am going to be completely honest here.  I usually hate the trope of enemies to lovers.  I really have not been a fan.  This particular story was much anticipated, so I am not sure if that played a part.  Al...

STEM Lab's make learning fun

Image
This manual helps with aiding in the teaching of Science, using a new way of helping the kids absorb.  While the STEM system is not new, this book shows with 48 projects just how computer games and education can be combined.  If you have not seen this series, you are in a for a treat. The author's still observe some basics.  They encourage the use of a journal.  Using the popularity of the video game Minecraft, users can gain scientific knowledge.  Making fun  things like glow in the dark items to fireworks.  I loved the lab that was able to be crafted. Harness the widely enjoyed video game to bring education to students.  This is such a great idea, and a very usable concept.  I was actually excited and at the end, hoping for more projects.  Maybe there will be a volume 2?  I give this guide a 4/5 Kitty's Paws UP! ***This early copy was given in exchange for an honest review by Netgalley and its publishers only.

Roommates

Image
This is book #4, in the 5* How To Date A Douchebag series.   This book can be read as a standalone novel.  To avoid spoilers, and to understand the series better, I recommend reading these great titles in order. Anabelle is anxious to move out of her Dad's home.  She is an adult and needs to have her own space.  Elliott needs a roommate, so it just makes sense. Elliott does not realize how hard it will be to live with an attractive woman until he does.  They become good friends right away.  Having similar interests, it is not a surprise they find one another interesting. This was the final book in the  series .  I found it to be witty, clever, and shockingly - heartwarming.  There is a little of everything in this story.  I loved the heat level.  Sparks were just flyin' all over the place!  I also loved how the two MC's genuinely cared about one another, and it showed.  I give this book 4/5 Kitty's Paws ...

Blog Tour w/Review - Tied Up In You

Image
Tied Up in You by Erin Fletcher Release Date: 7/10/17   About the book:   Everyone says hotshot goalie Luke Jackson is God’s gift to girls, but the only girl he wants is his best friend, Malina Hall. He’s always known how brilliant she is, but now that he’s “accidentally” kissed her, he can’t stop thinking about her…or wanting to kiss her again.   Problem is, things have been a little…awkward since the kiss. Because she likes him, too? Hopefully, but even if she did, their futures—and the ridiculous schedules that come with them—are in the way. And now one of his teammates is showing interest, and the guy has more in common with Malina than Jackson ever will.   As her best friend, Jackson should get out of the way. But if there’s one thing he’s learned from hockey, it’s that you have to go for what you want, even if it means falling flat on your face. A...

Connected

Image
This is book #2, in the All Laced Up series .  This book can be read as a standalone novel.  For reader understanding, and to avoid spoilers, I recommend reading this great series in order. Malina and Luke AKA Jackson, have been best friends a long time.  They used to do everything together.  Lately, school and other commitments have kept them further apart.  So when they do spend time together, they seem to fight a lot. Jackson knows he should not be feeling attracted and hot over his best friend, but he cannot seem to put aside his feelings.  When they go on a double date, jealousy gets the better of him and he almost self destructs! There was so much to love about this story, where do I start?  The characters were amazing.  They were real, flawed, and felt all the feels.  The banter was so much fun.  I laughed out loud, I cried, I just basically enjoyed this novel right to the very last page!  I give this book a 5/5 ...

Back for more

Image
This book was actually very fun to read.  Cassie walks into Simon's shop for help with a laptop issue.  They are seriously attracted to one another from the moment he returns said laptop. This author never fails to give me the feels.  Whether it be to cry, laugh, or just generally want to maul someone (in both good and bad ways.)  Just such a fun book as I really hope to see more of these characters in upcoming stories.  Makes me want to make my own list, if you want the truth. These two were very obviously meant to be together.  Despite choosing to hide certain things from their pasts, they keep it on a shallow basis for now.  Love does not usually want to be a side dish.  Seriously good story with an excellent pace.  I give this book a 4/5 Kitty's Paws UP! ***This ARC copy was given in exchange for an honest review only.

Choices

Image
Al, short for Alchemy, I know - right?  Poor character.  It's sure different.  Anyway, Al has several men in his circle he could choose.  He currently has a love interest who takes him for granted, is already cheating with him on his partner, and is kinda testy when pushed. Finn is someone who believes in magic, the universe, and is a touch jaded.  Hugh is a mentor who has some serious issues.  In the ways of love, however, we are not always thinking with a logical part of our brain. I found this story to be full of surprises for the reader!  Each character has its own quirky and individual personality.  That was the best part of the book.  I had a hard time with a bit of the fact that I felt the main character was taken advantage of.  That could just be my own interpretation, of course.  Overall a funny read.  I give this story a 3/5 Kitty's Paws UP! ***I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy of this book.

Hot and cold

Image
Andre and Max meet when they must go below the earths surface together.  Andre has samples to take, and Max is the diver who must approve of his skill.  The attraction is mutual, hot and immediate. Max cannot show any weakness among the men he works with.  He is afraid for them to find out he is interested in men.  His interest in Andre is not easy to hide.  He wants him more than breath. Andre is a temptation Max is not sure he is willing to take a chance on.  Andre does not want a man in the closet.  He knows he is worth more than that.  He also knows he cannot choose for him. Such a sweet and interesting story.  The book is full of fun facts and interesting parts about Antarctica.  I learned a lot.  I loved the characters finding each other.  I give this book a 3/5 Kitty's Paws UP!

Heir is the key

After a 3-day fling, Annie and Dash had a baby boy.  Dash never knew.  Annie finally has to tell him in order to save their son's life. Annie comes to Montana to talk to Dash with her son and her mother in tow.  She has tried doctors and no one has a clue what is wrong with her young child.  She has come to her son's father in the hopes that an answer may be found. Dash is in shock over the news.  He is not supposed to be able to have children with a human.  As an Alpha Werewolf, he was always told that would never happen.  Yet here Annie is with a boy that looks just like him. There are many surprises in store for these two parents.  First of all, Dash is up for a leadership position where he has to play politics just as Annie arrives.  There is a killer on the loose, and so much more! I enjoyed the story and that surprised me.  It is hard to get into these sometimes due to the varying folklore, but this book explains s...
