Justin tends to be inside his head.  Not too many people understand him, and fewer try.  He has a few friends who seem to care.  This year it looks like that may change.  Like everything may change. Dominic is back and living next door.  The past is catching up to both of them as they realize they may have more in common that they thought.  If he can just tell Justin the truth, and hang on to a friendship that could turn into more, this may be their year. Characters that move me, well more than one per book is rare.  I found I loved both of this couple as it motivated me to read faster and get to the end.  I was pleased that there was romance, charm, and more among the angst.  So many surprises and a worthwhile read.  Hope we revisit this bunch of friends.  I give this a 4/5 Kitty's Paws UP! ***This copy was given in exchange for an honest review.

Frenemies

Wren and Fuller have history.  That's right, and not the good kind either.  Wren had been hurt repeatedly by being treated so poorly by the "in" crowd, of which Fuller is the leader, basically. Fuller is getting into some trouble academically.  His coach has a plan - but does not want anyone to know.  So Fuller treats it as he is interested in Wren, instead.  Little does he know how much truth is like fiction. This was such an amazing story!  I had never read this author's work before, but you can bet I will again.  I hope we revisit this group at this school.  There seems like a lot of potential for a series here.  I loved the banter, and even how enemies were able to become friends.  I found the story very compelling.  Deeper characters than meets the eye, it was a rich read with a lot more to it than originally thought.  I give this read a 4/5 Kitty's Paws UP! ***This early copy was give in exchange for an ho...

Victoria AKA "Vic" is gonna play baseball.  Who cares if it is a male dominated sport.  She signed up, showed up, and played hard.  She is gonna prove herself if it kills her. Daniel knows she has a boyfriend, but he also knows the guy is a tool.  He cannot help but be interested in a girl who knows her own mind.  She can play baseball, and is a great addition to the team. This book felt like is was fast paced.  I love the characters and eagerly devoured each page.  I felt like this book was a great read.  The story was rich, the characters fun to read, and the heat was just gentle.  I cannot wait to read the next installment!  I give this a 4/5 Kitty's Paws UP!

Pepper is trying not to be crushed by all the demands in her life.  As swim team captain, a completely straight A student, and her parents demands of her input into their company.  She is just a high school student who should have just been a girl, meeting a boy, hoping he likes her.  If only. Jack is a total pretender.  He pretends to be ok with the whole school assuming he is his brother.  He pretends not to know all the goings on through an app he runs.  He pretends to be a normal teenager, like all the others.  What he really is well, is a boy.  Just a boy, hoping to meet a girl who will like him for just being himself, and not his popular brother. The characters have the sparks right from the start!  Already like oil and water, there are many secrets to high school, and even more between the main MC's.  That is before all the public hype too.  Is it love, is it war?  Is it just high school?  I laughed...

This is book #3, in the To All The Boys I've Loved Before series.   This book can be read as a standalone novel.  For reader understanding, and to avoid spoilers, I recommend reading this series in order. Lara Jean' story continues in this book with her deciding where to go to college.  She has so much going on with finishing her senior year in high school, planning a wedding, and figuring out where she stands with Peter and other boys in her life. Peter just wants to enjoy being with Lara Jean.  He wants to hear words of forever and always.  While they are having to decide where they stand as a couple and what they will do for school, there are outside commentaries that seem to effect the status quo. This last installment in the series made me want to beg the author for just one more book.  I love the characters.  I have grown to love their families, the community, and I am so grateful to have taken the time to get to know these characte...

This is book #2, in the  To All The Boys I've Loved Before series.  This book can be read as a standalone novel.  For complete understanding of the series, and to avoid spoilers, I recommend reading this series in order. Lara Jean's story continues as she navigates high school, loving boys, and family obligations.  At the heart of her she is serious, and honest.  Her back and forth with Peter is challenged in this installment by the appearance of John. Peter is trying to understanding the changes and speed of life.  When his love becomes a triangle he is so confused and angry.  Mostly he is hurt that it was even possible.  Sure, he stays in touch and tries to help his ex, Genevieve.  He never thought Laura Jean would walk away. This book was so full of action I actually read it twice.  The pace is rather fast once it gets going, and the characters are all caught up in the action that consists of high school and getting re...

Lara Jean Song has a lot on her plate as a sixteen year old girl in high school.  She lost her mother when young, and lives with her father and two sisters.  Her older sister is going away to college, and Lara Jean feels like this could be her year.  Until love letters she has kept hidden somehow get sent to the boys she wrote them to. Along the way she rekindles a friendship with Peter, and maybe Josh.  She intends to solve the mystery of how the letters got out.  She also finds out what makes a teenager popular.  This is a story of more than just romance.  It is a yearning and a growth. I was a bit sad to find that the book itself is quite thorough and varied and had split the attention away from more than just the main character.  After a while it grew on me and I just enjoyed the humor and "cultural" and teenage funnies.  As for what happens, well there are more books to this  series , and I intend to read them....
