Jacob has been in love with Lincoln for a while.  They have had to live apart, since Lincoln would not give them a chance and hurt his best friend.  Jacob being his best friends little brother put a kink in the works. Lincoln is not sure what to do when Jacob not only comes back to town, but works with him as a smoke jumper as well.  He has paid his dues.  The only issue now is can Lincoln let Jacob run in danger and not blow his cover?  His feelings have been hidden and now they may come to light. This story was so HOT!  I mean that in both the figurative & literal ways.  I loved that this was a second chance story.  The job is dangerous, but so is loving someone forbidden.  These characters made losing sleep worth my while, as I could not put this one down until I finished the whole thing.  Lots of sparks a flyin'!  I give this read a 4/5 Kitty's Paws UP! ***This ARC copy was given by Netgalley & its publish...

This is book #3, in the Daring Divorcees series.   This book can be read as a standalone novel.  For reader enjoyment, I recommend reading the entire series. Evelyn seems like she has a pretty great life.  Being a TV producer has its ups and downs, but overall she likes it.  Her best friend is a hunky firefighter and that is a big plus too.   Owen has wanted to be more in Evelyn's life.  Being her best friend is a perk, but he is always wishing for that "extra" chance.  Will he take it when it arrives? This story was what I classify as a slow burn.  The characters are actually pretty deep, and very interesting.  I like their friendship and the loyalty is obvious.  I was pretty pleased when they started to try and see how they could be together.  Great addition to the series and a pretty hot read.  I give this a 3/5 Kitty's Paws UP! ***This ARC copy was given by Netgalley and its publishers, in exchange ...

Blog Tour w/Review - Fireball

Image
BLURB:    He’s infuriating…   Dempsey Jones has been a nuisance my entire life, the straight-laced Boy Scout grown up to be a  firefighter,  of all things. He was the one helping kittens out of trees and old ladies cross the road while I was lighting cherry bombs with my best friend in abandoned buildings, and now that we’re all grown up—even if my Dad doesn’t agree—he’s still just as annoying.     She’s impossible…   Taite Ridley has been a constant my whole life, the curly haired mischievous daughter of the police chief, charming and devious and alluring. She was wild in ways I never dared to be and too big for our little town. But she’s here, a small town cop, and I can’t avoid her, even if I wanted to.     And I don’t want to.     It’s like mixing fire and gasoline and when these two collide, someone is gonn...

Troy has one thing happen after another.  When a really bad situation turns good thanks to a new roommate, he tries to settle into a new routine.  If he finds his friend attractive, does that make him a bad person? Alex was interested in Troy from the moment he saw him.  Getting him moved in was just a bonus.  He is hoping they can both overcome the past, and make a bright future together. This book was really such a bright spot.  I was pleased the characters had such a banter, that they came across as a couple right away.  The main hero was just fun to read.  I loved the humor and the real pieces to the story that made it fit just right.  This author is always a go to purchase, and this was this author's best work yet!  I give this book a 4/5 Kitty's Paws UP! ***This ARC copy was given by Netgalley and its publisher in exchange for an honest review only.

Review Tour - Ready To Run

Image
Named Best Book of the Month by Amazon and iBooks          READY TO RUN I Do, I Don't #1 Lauren Layne Releasing Aug 22, 2017 Loveswept   The Bachelor meets The Runaway Bride in this addictive romance novel about a reality TV producer falling for her would-be star: a Montana heartthrob who wants nothing to do with the show. Jordan Carpenter thinks she’s finally found the perfect candidate for Jilted, a new dating show about runaway grooms: Luke Elliott, a playboy firefighter who’s left not one but three brides at the altar. The only problem? Luke refuses to answer Jordan’s emails or return her calls. Which is how she ends up on a flight to Montana to recruit him in person. It’s not Manhattan but at least the locals in Lucky Hollow seem friendly . . . except for Luke, who’s more intense—and way hotter—than the slick womanizer Jordan expected. Eager to put the past behind him,...

Staying

Jordan is a producer on a TV reality series.  She is searching for the perfect man to attract the women.  Also, he needs to have left them at the altar.  Why would she be attracted to that? Luke is the man in question.  Talking to him, and the folks around him, only brings more questions.  If he is a runaway groom - why are the ladies loving him? This is a seriously sweet and hot story.  I love the characters and cannot wait for more in the  I Do, I Don't series.   So much fun, and yet plenty of heat to still call it romance.  I give this book a 4/5 Kitty's Paws UP! ***This early copy was given in exchange for an honest review, by Netgalley and its publishers.

This is a boxed set of books 1-3 of  The San Francisco Sullivans series .  These books can be read as individual standalone novels.  For reader understanding, and to avoid spoilers, I recommend reading this amazing series in order intended. Book 1:  The Look Of Love Chloe is rescued in the dark of night by none other than Chase Sullivan.  He can see she has already been through it.  He invites her to stay and gets to know her better.   Chase is seriously attracted to Chloe.  She seems to feel the same.  When it all comes down to it, asking her to stay was the best choice of all. These characters are so much fun to read!  The family is full of charming and witty people who just happened to be hot.  The setting is dreamy, and this story is just the perfect side of sizzling!   Book 2:  From This Moment On Marcus meets Nicola and falls nearly at her feet.  While he helps and protects her, she ca...

Hotter

This is book # 2, in the  Eternal Flame series .  This book can be read as a standalone novel.  For reader enjoyment and understanding of the series, I recommend reading in order. Tim & Nicky have been together for a long time.  So when things get odd, and turn the door to suspicious, he tries to give his man the benefit of the doubt.  He has many people in his life who do not understand his relationship, and they all think he should walk away. Nicky tries hard to make Tim feel loved.  If only Tim had known what he was planning.  He would have been able to help him sooner.  As the evidence piles up, can they stay strong against the strain? This series is definitely hot.  My biggest complaint was that this story could have been longer.  I felt a serious rush there at the end.  The story is complete, and moves right along.  I just felt like I wanted more.  I give this book a 2/5 Kitty's Paws UP! *...

Mystery

Image
Kyle & Rick do not get along.  Rick is very snappy and impatient with Kyle.  He appears to be offended he is being bothered.  This is sad, considering Kyle was Rick's hero for a day at least. Rick is just different.  From a different culture, region, country, etc.  They just need to learn to communicate on a level that works between them.  The attraction is certainly there for both sides, and this helps pave the way. This story seems hot and cold.  I found myself wondering if they should even get together.  I was just not prepared for the personality clashes.  Overall, a quick and simple read.  I give this story a 3/5 Kitty's Paws UP! ***I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy of this book.

This is an anthology of Hockey stories, centered around a championship team.  I chose  Deep Check  by  Kimberly Kincaid  for my review.  These books can be read as a standalone novel, but are more fun when read together. Finn and January have a history.  One that goes back to high school.  The last time they saw one another, their friendship was ruined.  Then tragedy struck.  Can they repair the pain and move on? January wants to forgive Finn.  It was not his fault she has been hot for him for years.  She does not want a repeat of last time.  Maybe they have both grown enough to make a better future. This story was so bittersweet.  They are both missing their buddy.  These characters have so much heat and heart.  I was truly excited to turn each page!  I give this anthology a 4/5 Kitty's Paws UP!

Friends To Lovers series continues with another epic love story about best friends who must go through the fire to find what burns in their hearts.  A truly impressive story about love, loss, and strength. The gang is back in this second installment about pain, growth, and real friendship.  Carter, Molly, and the rest teach us what love is all about.  This book being Carter & Molly's story. Molly has always wanted to be a doctor.  Carter only wishes to be a fireman.  When tragedy strikes, can the future still be clear?   Sweet and sad tale of five friends and how life changes them as they grow.  I loved that characters, the friendships, and the sexy.  There is a solid mystery to solve as well.  I was truly enchanted.  I give this story a 4/5 Kitty's Paws UP! ***This early copy was given in exchange for an honest review.

Gavin has not been pining for Jordan this whole time.  Or has he?  When she returns to their hometown, he finds he has never stopped loving her. Jordan has had so much happen to her in life.  Now, she must protect her children from harm.  Going home is all she knows to do.  Only home is where a fire bug is getting more excited. Great start to the  McGuire Brothers series .  There is a ton going on, great humor, and a sincere love story woven through it all.  I cannot wait to read the rest of the series!  I give this book a 3/5 Kitty's Paws UP!

This is book #2, in the Counting On Love series .  This book can be read as a standalone novel.  For the readers enjoyment and understanding, I recommend reading this incredible series in order. Shane & Isabelle are basically broken up as this book begins.  With her basically being the love of his life, he is willing to make some concessions.  They put this to the test. Isabelle has been keeping many secrets from Shane.  This could make or break their relationship.  As it is, they are on the outs.  If only they didn't have such a powerful attraction between them. This book had all the feels and then some.  I really could not stop laughing for part of it.  Then the sad.  The characters just make you feel everything with such power.  Very well written.  Seriously good series.  I cannot wait to read the next book.  I give this story a 5/5 Kitty's Paws UP! ***This copy was given in exchange for...

SPARKING THE FIRE BOOK 3 A HOT IN CHICAGO NOVEL KATE MEADER Pocket Books September 27, 2016 ISBN 9781476785936 $7.99   Praise for Sparking the Fire , Book 3:   “The tale of hot firefighters and the women—and one man—who love them has come to an end. Meader ends this series with role playing, fierce family loyalty and multiple orgasms. The male protagonist goes through a transformation that showcases his vulnerability, insecurities, possessiveness and protectiveness. The many instances of a family sticking together through it all are more than enough to tug on the heart strings, but the steamy sex and sentimental pillow talk make this book a must-read.” — RT Book Reviews Four Star Review, Scorcher   “Can a firefighter and a movie star really make it work? Meader ( Rekindle the Flame , 2015) immerses you in Wyatt’s tight-knit family of foster siblings that she’s built throughout the Hot...
