Challenged

Aubrey runs a really successful bakery that is only threatened by the hottest specimen she has met in a long time.  She finds out later he wrote the worst review about her place.  Then has the nerve to claim he can still help her. Landon is honestly meaning well.  He does not want to put his reputation on the line by retracting the review that caused all the devastation.  Yet somehow in between this all is electricity that crackles and sparks that fly for the two of them anytime they are in the same room together. Surprisingly enough, this book has lots of humor, ideas for great recipes, and more than meets the eye.  I had a hard time getting the book finished as the couple were interesting and so was the plot - only I felt something was lacking there.  The heat and the chemistry were on point but something was just missing.  It is worth a read, as it has really deep characters who get more background story as you read.  I ...

This is book #3, in the Starving For Southern series .  This book can be read as a standalone novel.  For reader enjoyment and to fully understand the series, I recommend reading this great series in order. Jack has been in the NFL the last 10 years.  He has had an incredible team and made good friends.  When the worst happens, he turns to whom he needs the most.  His best friend, Meg. Meg has never wanted forever.  She makes it clear to all who know her that its just easier to be the person living her best life.  She has great talent, good friends, and is doing what she can to just be healthy and live everyday. This was such a great and heartwarming story.  Right from the first page I felt totally sucked into the story and could not put it down! I loved these characters already from the series, and this was an installment that felt like icing on the cake. (Or pie.) Being able to read about their journey was totally a gift.  I g...

This is book #2 in the Twilight Falls series.   This story can be read as a standalone novel.  To avoid spoilers, and to understand the series better, I recommend reading this series in order. Elijah hears sounds from his neighbors home that worry him.  A child is crying and he does not know why.  Does he do something?  Stand by?  This is a defining moment. Carter has been hit with some of life's true setbacks.  When he and Elijah both have surprises from their past thrown at them - can they come together and make a future?  What does it take to give someone your heart? I could not stop reading this.  Every page had more and more I needed to know.  I loved all the very sexy times, and the sparks were flyin'!  This one has it all heart, heat, and hurt.  I was so pleased that this story gave me a little bit of it all.  I am hopeful for the next installment of this series.  I give this read a 4/5 Kitty...

Blog Tour w/Review - Wrapped Up In You

Image
It’s love. Trust me.   After a lifetime on the move, Ivy Snow is an expert in all things temporary—schools, friends, and way too many Mr. Wrongs. Now that she owns a successful taco truck in San Francisco and an apartment to call home, Ivy’s reinvented life is on solid ground. And she’s guarded against anything that can rock it. Like the realities of a past she’s worked hard to cover up. And especially Kel O’Donnell. Too hot not to set off alarms, he screams temporary. If only his whispers weren’t so delightfully naughty and irresistible.   Kel, an Idaho sheriff and ranch owner, is on vacay, but Ivy’s a spicy reason to give his short-term plans a second thought. Best of all, she’s a tonic for his untrusting heart, burned once and still in repair. But when Ivy’s past intrudes on a perfect romance, Kel fears that everything she’s told him has been a perfect lie. Now, if only Ivy’s willing to share, Kel ...

This is book #8, in the Heartbreaker Bay series.   This book can be read as a standalone novel.  To avoid spoilers, and to greater understand the series, I recommend reading this in order. Ivy has never been able to really count on anyone.  She is finally building a home for herself and her business.  Now with feelings creeping in for someone who will not be staying, she is starting to feel vulnerable again. Kel has issues of trust on his own.  Feeling like Ivy is hiding something is hindering what could be a new relationship for them both.  Can they move beyond the past and create of future together? This book felt truly like a slow burn.  The heat is there and each chapter stokes the flames until finally you know the fire is coming.  I loved the banter among the characters.  I also enjoyed a peek into the previous characters from  this series we all love.   I give this read a 4/5 Kitty's Paws UP! ***This early ...

Yes, things have become ho-hum in her longtime relationship, but she was two days away from walking down the aisle with the man she thought was her forever when he called it off. Convincing herself that they'd be able to reignite their spark once the wedding craziness settled? That was easy. Suddenly finding herself without a fiancé? Not so much. This is book #3, in the Mile High Matched series.   This book can be read as a standalone novel.  For reader enjoyment, and to avoid spoilers, I recommend reading this series in order. Marlee had just gotten dumped and her wedding is off.  Her ex is a chicken who puts all of it on her.  Too much pressure.  Good thing she has her friends.  Even Eli, whom she has known forever.  He is always there when she needs him. Eli's sister is Marlee's best friend.  He has always watched over them when they do their worst.  He fixes the messes, and patches them up.  This time he may need the one in need of aid. Honestly, this started out what I would call a slow burn.  Then when the pace picked up it nearly stampeded out of the book and over me.  I loved the relationships, the friends, the pranks, the banter, the fun, the humor, and so much more.  These characters would not be ignored and even when sleep beckoned I ignor...

This is book #4, in the Confessions series.   This book can be read as a standalone novel.  To avoid spoilers, and fully understand the series, I recommend reading this series in order. Julien and Priest want to meet Robbie's family.  They are just waiting for him to be ready.  With his birthday being the motivation - the plan is set in motion.  Can they show him they are ready for forever too? This feels like a final installment or summary, if you will, of where the men are now.  Together, as they should be.  I was thrilled to jump back in to our favorite group and see some familiar faces!  This was a great read a...

This is book #2, in the Confessions series .  This book can be read as a standalone novel.  To avoid spoilers, and have a better understanding of the series, I recommend reading this series in order. This book moves quickly.  The story is so compelling, both with the relationships and the pain from before that must be overcome.  I love watching these characters come together and learn to be in sync.  I cannot wait to see the next installment about Priest!  I give this story a 4/5 Kitty's Paws UP! ***This ARC copy was given in exchange for an honest review.

Nick meets Alex when he comes in to the club where he is working.  He cannot help but feel the good looking guy seems sweet.  Then he finds out he is everything. Alex has found himself living a good life without any happiness.  He has a lot to be grateful for, but not what he has always wanted.  When he meets a man who is following his own dreams, he second guesses where he is and where he is going. This book was like a chapter out of a persons life.  I felt like I was watching it take place.  I loved the sexy times since they were full of heat.  The banter was cute, and the pace of the story was good.  These characters give us a good solid read.  I give this a 4/5 Kitty's Paws UP! ***This ARC copy was given in exchange of an honest review, by Netgalley and its publishers.

Robbie has feelings for Julien.  He is tying himself in knots over them.  He hates Julien's husband, Joel AKA "Priest".  Making sense of his feelings are causing him pain. Julien and Joel have talked about Robbie.  They have never found anyone who fills the needs they require.  He is the only one to posses the qualities they have been looking for.  If only they can show him they are serious, and he is very much wanted. Every page was a revelation.  There is something for everyone in this book.  I loved that is had humor, heat, and hunks.  Even has a cameo by a favorite character.  If you enjoyed the  Temptation series , you are going to love the  Confessions series .  I give this a 4/5 Kitty's Paws UP! ***This ARC copy was provided in exchange for an honest review.

Timing

Image
This story is book # 3, in the Checkerberry Inn series.   This book can be read as a standalone novel.  For reader enjoyment and understanding, I recommend reading the series in order. Maddie is in desperate need of some help at work, and a date to an event.  They may not go together, but the need for both is increasing.  There is a possibility of hope on these fronts, as long as she plays it right. Cole is desperate for work to fulfill his dream.  He can help Maddie find a date.  They both have pasts and an attraction gaining heat.  Just a leap of faith keeping on track. This was a cute, and sweet, and definitely clean romance.  My only issue is that I am not big on women who have insecurities rule their lives.  This was a twist on the love triangle trope, but handled in a clever way.  I give this book a 3/5 Kitty's Paws UP! ***This ARC copy was given in exchange for an honest review by Netgalley and its publis...

Meg and Kyle have danced around one another for years.  When she was married to his brother, he had to keep his distance.  What happens now when there is no one between them? Kyle has been in love with Meg for years.  Knowing he could never have her, it seems almost impossible to believe she is back in his life now.  Can he show her how important she is to him? This was such an emotional and sweet book.  I fell in love with the characters and then watched them as they fell.  Really good read with depth and charm.  I give this book a 3/5 Kitty's Paws UP! ***This ARC copy was given by Netgalley & its publishers in exchange for an honest review only.
