Blog Tour w/Review - A Sweet Mess

Image
ABOUT A SWEET MESS:   Korean-American author Jayci Lee delights with  A Sweet Mess , a delicious and light-hearted romantic comedy that readers will devour and ask for more.  Aubrey Choi loves living in her small town nestled in the foothills of California, running her highly successful bakery away from the watch of her strict Korean parents. When a cake mix-up and a harsh review threaten all of her hard work and her livelihood, she never thought the jaded food critic would turn out to be her one-night stand. And she sure as hell never thought she’d see the gorgeous Korean hunk again. But when Landon Kim waltzes into her bakery trying to clean up the mess he had a huge hand in making, Aubrey is torn between throwing and hearing him out.  When she hears his plan to help save her business, Aubrey knows that spending three weeks in California wine country working with Landon is a sure recipe for disaster. Her head is telling her...

Challenged

Aubrey runs a really successful bakery that is only threatened by the hottest specimen she has met in a long time.  She finds out later he wrote the worst review about her place.  Then has the nerve to claim he can still help her. Landon is honestly meaning well.  He does not want to put his reputation on the line by retracting the review that caused all the devastation.  Yet somehow in between this all is electricity that crackles and sparks that fly for the two of them anytime they are in the same room together. Surprisingly enough, this book has lots of humor, ideas for great recipes, and more than meets the eye.  I had a hard time getting the book finished as the couple were interesting and so was the plot - only I felt something was lacking there.  The heat and the chemistry were on point but something was just missing.  It is worth a read, as it has really deep characters who get more background story as you read.  I ...

This is book #5, in the Shacking Up series.   This book can be read as a standalone novel.  To avoid spoilers, and to more understand the series, I recommend reading these in order. Wren has been working with someone awful.  When she is approached to help the awful guy's brother she hesitates.  Then she figures her future plans are worth it.  When she meets the man who she will be working with, she questions everything. Lincoln absolutely hates being attracted to Wren at first.  Then he realizes he cannot make it one day in this smothering city without her.  He is used to fresh air, and now she is the air that keeps him alive.  Can he keep her or will he lose her to the wind? These characters are so vibrant and so real.  I felt for them as I read each page.  This  series  just seems to get better.  The pace was good, the heat was HOT, and the book was just a great read.  I give this a 4/5 Kitty's P...

This is book #4, in the Shacking Up series .  This book can be read as a standalone novel.  To avoid spoilers and gain full understanding of this series, I recommend reading these in order. Cosy has a hard job.  She is Las Vegas, working at an adult toy store.  When Griffin comes in she assumes he is just another perv off the street.  Lots of those in Vegas. Griffin is bowled away by Cosy from the moment they meet.  He just has to figure a way to get her to go out with him.  How will he ever survive a future that could be so blank now that he has met the one? This is in my opinion, this author's best work to date.  The characters feel very real.  Flawed, good looking, and struggling to show excitement for their current situation.  Then they get together and magic! I loved their banter and the heat was sizzling over.  I give this a 5/5 Kitty's Paws UP! ***This early copy was given by Netgalley and its publisher, ...

This is book #2, in the Tate Brothers series .  This book can be read as a standalone novel.  For reader enjoyment and understanding, I recommend reading this amazing series in order. Lucas wants to keep Grace safe.  If there is anyone who can do this, he can.  Since they already have a history of tragedy between them he feels it prudent to keep his distance from her emotionally. Grace knows that Lucas the means and training to keep her safe physically.  What about her heart?  She has already known tragedy and loss.  Is it wise to find herself attracted to the same type of man again? This book moves at a fast pace.  I like the growing tension and how it is laid out.  The characters clash and the temperature rises.  Makes for a sexy slow burn, but they belong together.  I give this story a 4/5 Kitty's Paws UP! ***This early copy was given in exchange for an honest review only, by Netgalley and its publishers. ...

Henry AKA "Hank" just wants to be a normal guy for the weekend.  Just wants to enjoy hanging with his college friends without the paparazzi following him around.  Then he meets this amazing woman he wants to spend time with.   I loved this story from the start.  The banter wasn't the only thing zinging all over.  The heat in this book was seriously turned up!  Had a steady pace and characters that were so much fun to read.  I give this book a 4/5 Kitty's Paws UP! ***This early copy was given in exchange for an honest ...
