This is book # 3 in the New York's Finest series .   This is a book that can be read as a standalone novel.  To enjoy fully and understand all the inside jokes from the characters involved, I recommend reading in the order intended. Vincent and Jill have been partners for six years.  They know each other well.  They have an excellent record as detectives also.  They are basically best friends. Jill has been in love with Vin for a while, and finds that he will never change so she must move on.  She comes back from assisting her mother in Florida with future plans that rock Vincent's world.
