Kismet

Nick moves to a new town to attend college with a gull ride scholarship.  Sebastian hits on him right away.  The mutual attraction sets off sparks right away. Sebastian is used to getting what he wants.  What he wants now is Nick.  Nick, however, is a serious student who wants to do well and not let anything get in his way. This book was a serious slow burn, and was almost too slow.  I liked the characters interaction itself but wish the pace had been a little bit faster.  I loved the ending and was thrilled this author once again gave me an HEA.  I give this a 3/5 Kitty's Paws UP! ***This ARC copy was given in exchange for an honest review only, by Netgalley and its publishers.

Struggle

Image
This book is #3, in the Ringside Romance series .  This book can be read as a standalone novel.  For reader enjoyment and understanding, I recommend reading this series in order. Justin has to start over.  He cannot go back into the past. He does not want to go back.  Since he has burned some bridges, it is necessary to start fresh.  Start over where he knows someone.  Then he meets someone special. Finn is scared to talk to people in person.  Struggles with it all the time.  Once comfortable with someone, there is no problem.  Now, with a date with someone new, Finn needs help from a friend. This story was as sweet as it was sexy.  The slow burn in this book just keeps the reader captivated until the very last page.  I like how this series makes us feel like any relationship is possible.  Even when we believe otherwise.  That is why we read.  So we can glimpse a better life that is out there.  I giv...

Fixing

This short story collection is set in the series Five Boroughs .  These can probably be read as standalone novellas, but would better read in order with the series.  There are three books included, but for the review purposes we will look at the first story, Rerouted. Chris is trying to move on with his life.  He is trying not to think about his past encounters with both Jace and Aiden.  The couple have a kind of open relationship that leaves room for someone like Chris. Aiden & Jace have been trying to come up with a way to talk Chris into coming back and being with them more.  He has been distant lately, and this is a cause for some concern.  Is  there something wrong? This was such a nice quick read.  Lovely characters I was excited to see again.  Also many visitors from the previous books in the series are present.  I like the fast pace of these books.  I also adore the banter and real world situations that...

Complicated

Brendon wants to meet Colin AKA "Matt" so bad he can taste it.  So he makes his own destiny, and lies in wait.  When he gets the chance to be face to face with fate, will it all work out? Matt has no idea that Brendon has a secret.  He thought them meeting was a normal thing.  Well, as normal as it could have been.  Can he trust someone new after being hurt in the past? This story was blissfully simple.  Just a love story with real feelings, by genuine characters who are fun to read.  The story flows pretty well.  Not my favorite from this author, though.  I give this story a 3/5 Kitty's Paws UP! ***This ARC copy was given in exchange for an honest review by Netgalley and its publisher.

Tricky

Image
Tristan is a hockey player who knows he cannot play the sport forever.  He makes plans for the future.  Going back to school is the best solution.  Being attracted to his teacher, is just not an option. Sebastian does not want to be attracted to his student.  He needs to stop dreaming and thinking of the one man he cannot have.  But, it seems like it might be mutual.... These characters were just such a joy to read.  I am not a fan of the teacher or forbidden trope.  In this story, it just works.  I will not spoil it for you - but I really am looking forward to reading more in this  Hat Trick series .  These authors never disappoint.  I give this book a 4/5 Kitty's Paws UP! *** This ARC copy was given in exchange for an honest review from Netgalley and its publishers.

Matt is in a very difficult place.  Literally.  He is in a very conservative school.  Where he plays football.  With people who would kick him out if they knew the truth.  Then he meets him.  The man who will change everything about what he needs. Trevor feels used by Matt at first.  Does not really get what he wants.  Then he finally admits to himself he has wanted Matt since the first time he saw him years ago.  The sparks flying around the room when they are in it together.... could burn a person to ashes. Some stories stick with you.  This one will for me for a long time.  I thought the author's presentation of the personal feelings and obstacles that had to be overcome came across very real.  I will definitely look to read more by said author.  These characters were fun and entertaining to read.  I give this book a 4/5 Kitty's Paws UP! ***This ARC copy was given by Netgalley and its publishers in e...

Scorching

Image
This is book #3 in the Anchor Point series .  This book can be read as a standalone novel.  For reader enjoyment and understanding of the series, I recommend reading in order. Anthony does not want to be here.  He promised his sister, and here he is.  On a break from the family drama, he meets Noah.  Very hot and very quickly they click. Noah is more than happy to go home with a hot and willing guy.  How would he know this guy would change the direction of his future?  As long as they meet in the middle, the future looks bright. This book was hot and intense right from the start.  I found the characters endearing, and I rooted for them right away.  Such a sexy series.  I give this story a 3/5 Kitty's Paws UP! ***This early copy was given in exchange for an honest review by Netgalley and its publishers.

Bleeding

Logan has a running joke he tells everyone.  He is mostly straight.  Really.  He experimented in college.  Not long after, he lost his best friend.  When he runs into him again to say he is shocked is putting it mildly.  What he finds out about how the past rolled out shocks him even more. Ellis is excited and scared to see Logan again.  He left him a broken man the last time he saw him.  Can he take a chance and trust what he tells him about his feelings?  He still seems so unsure.  Ellis is scared the past will repeat itself. This simple and sweet story has some real truths inside.  While the characters clearly belong together, there is a lot of avoidance and a lot of scared.  I would have hoped to have more to the story, since it felt like a lot of trust issues were just getting going at the end, I was pleased to at least get my HEA.  I give this book a 3/5 Kitty's Paws UP! ***This ARC copy was given in e...

Trust

This story is book #2, in the Ringside Romance series .  This book can be read as a standalone novel.  To avoid spoilers, and to better understand the series, I recommend reading this in order. Grady has reasons for being far from home.  He is helped by a stranger one night, a night he barely remembers.  What does impress him, is how little the stranger cares about his celebrity status, money, or h is family. Max has his focus on his club, his friends, and keeping Ringside open.  When he meets Grady, some of that focus is off.  He cannot help but be attracted and quickly smitten with someone who needs him so badly. This couple is obviously meant to be.  It is a joy to read about men who can be both strong and sensitive.  This book is packed full of lots to enjoy.  There is heat, heart, and some hot sexy times.  I give this story a 3/5 Kitty's Paws UP! ***This copy was given in exchange for an honest review by Netg...

Tease me

Image
Andre & Joel have many friends in common.  When these friends encourage Joel to get out after a bad breakup, Andre shows interest in him for the first time.  Joel is not sure how to react to this, since they have little in common. Joel is really attracted.  Has always wanted a chance with Andre, and now that he is about to get one - is scared to death.  Should he take a risk?  Or is it better to play it safe with a healing heart? This story was sweet and sexy at the same time.  Surprisingly, there were many moments that had me laughing or crying out loud at the book.  Very enjoyable to read, and very different from what is out there.  I give this story a 3/5 Kitty's Paws UP! ***This ARC copy was given by Netgalley and its publisher in exchange for an honest review.

Everyday

Image
This is book # 4, in the Five Boroughs series .  This book can be read as a standalone novel.  This book also contains characters and situations that may be considered spoilers, so I recommend reading this series in order. Raymond & David's story continues from the 2nd book in the series, Sunset Park.  We get to see more into their lives.  How they are coping with the changes of being together, and the jobs that sometimes, pull them apart. David is trying hard not to rock the boat too much since Raymond is already on the edge.  In this story we see them drift away, come together, and bless the author, we get a solution at the end of the book also. I was pleased that this series would go to the lengths it has.  We see these amazingly complex characters in these everyday situations.  Sometimes the everyday can hurt and push you more than the extraordinary events.  This was depicted well in this book.  I give this story a 4...

You hold my heart

This is book # 3 in the Sidewinder series .   This book can be read as a standalone novel.  I recommend reading this series in order, however, to fully understand what is going on and enjoy the book more. Kelly and Nick's story continues in this installment of the  Sidewinder series .  This time they do a friend a favor by getting all the guys together (who are still living.)  There is a road trip and lots of crazy times too. Nick and Kelly have a hard time with their relationship and they both go to close friends for advice.  This book was very heartfelt and fun as well.  I found it to be an emotional roll to read.  The characters we love are also here.  I give this book a 5/5 Kitty's Paws UP! ***This ARC was given by Netgalley.com and its publisher in exchange for an honest review.

Kiss me again

Image
Richard and Evan meet while Evan is planning Richard's brother's wedding.   The attraction is strong on both sides.  Evan assumes Richard is straight and so he figures there is no chance for them. Evan is in shock when the Christmas Eve wedding he has gone all out for is called off.  Richard, brother to one of the grooms, suddenly kisses Evan and changes his perspective.  They talk and learn they have little in common. Richard is feeling like this could be more than what they are making it out to be.  Evan is trying to push him away and he wants to know why.  Together, they are explosive. Such a sweet and quick read.  I love the teasing and the sexy times are just HOT!  Makes a great gift too!  I give this book a 4/5 Kitty's Paws UP! ***This ARC was given from Netgalley.com and its publisher, for an honest review only.
