Kitty's Book Spot!

Felicity has had many hits and they keep on coming.  Her kids are her life.  She lives in a town where her family gathers around them, but they are needy unto themselves.  She wants to stop living in the past and move on. Graham knows he must learn to live in the now.  It is hard when you have a child who cannot seem to forigve you your foibles.  With this new attraction to an old friend, can he discover what it means to make a new family? This story had some great characters.  My issue with this book was that they were all presernt and accounted for.  The whole town, all the famlies, and it felt more than full it felt like a bucket overflowing.  The story itself moved at a fast pace.  It was just a struggle to keep up where maybe some of the storylines would have been best in their own book.  I give this read a 3/5 Kitty's Paws UP! ***This ARC copy was given by Netgalley and its publishers, in exchange for an honest re...

This is book #2, in the Getting Hitched In Dixie series.   While each book in this series in listed as a standalone and can be read that way, I recommend reading them in order.  Well worth it if you do. Violet comes to visit and help her sister.  She has crashed and burned recently with the bad breakup she has just experienced.  Then she meets Ford, and its like she just has to tell herself she is here to recover temporarily.   Ford never expects one woman to knock him off his feet.  Since they have met, he has felt like he always wants to be around her all the time.  Is it turning in your man card if you like being around someone so fun and full of life? This author is a 1click standard for me, I will be honest about that.  Not since her Taking Shots series have I stayed up and not put a book down. Wren and Fuller have history.  That's right, and not the good kind either.  Wren had been hurt repeatedly by being treated so poorly by the "in" crowd, of which Fuller is the leader, basically. Fuller is getting into some trouble academically.  His coach has a plan - but does not want anyone to know.  So Fuller treats it as he is interested in Wren, instead.  Little does he know how much truth is like fiction. This was such an amazing story!  I had never read this author's work before, but you can bet I will again.  I hope we revisit this group at this school.  There seems like a lot of potential for a series here.  I loved the banter, and even how enemies were able to become friends.  I found the story very compelling.  Deeper characters than meets the eye, it was a rich read with a lot more to it than originally thought.  I give this read a 4/5 Kitty's Paws UP! ***This early copy was give in exchange for an ho...

Willa meets the hunk of a lifetime while her friends are enjoying strippers.  She assumes he is one of them.  Instead he has a solid job, and a sexy body, and moves she has never before seen. Grady cannot believe he bargained a date with the most beautiful woman he has ever seen over a trip to the bathroom for three women.  He only knows he cannot wait to see her again.  He is rethinking all of his own ideas about dating after meeting Willa. This is book #2, in the Mile High Happiness series .  This book can be read as a standalone novel.  To avoid spoilers, and to really understand the series, I recommend reading these in order. Lilly is not known to have a one night stand.  When she does actually indulge, she feels free and like it was the right thing to do.  Later, she finds she is going to run in to Lincoln repeatedly.   Lincoln is glad to see Lilly again.  He was wondering what made her leave without any clue.  When they seem to be running into each other all the time, he hopes he can convince her to give them another shot.  Or will he be friend zoned? Such a steamy and fun story!  I loved each and every page in the time I was reading this book.  There was humor, and sexy times, and so much unexpected.  I found myself cringing or laughing out loud.  I really hope we see these characters again, they are a great pair.  We also got to see ...

Walker is the one who takes care of her family.  She puts her family first, herself last.  Then she helps someone left behind at her family's bar.  It may be something out of the ordinary for her, but she is a good person.  Why is everyone so shocked? Mason is excited to get along with someone who does not know who he is.  His secret is safe, and the chemistry is hot!  Until they get to know one another better, and time is running out to tell her the secret he has kept close to his chest. Sally AKA "Spitz" to most, is best friends with Becks.  They have been close since they were young children.  Too bad he has no idea she has been in love with him the whole time.  It is an unlikely pair, as he is the hottest guy in school, and she is a well known geek. Baldwin AKA "Becks" is very glad to be Sally's best friend.  He has secrets of his own he has not shared.  When she asks him a favor, he has no problem saying yes.  Will it get even more complicated when the whole school finds out? This is book #3, in the McCade Brothers series.   This book can be read as a standalone novel.  For reader understanding, and to avoid spoilers, I recommend reading this series in order. Logan is exhausted and arrives at his best friend's wedding knowing he needs a vacation.  Then he finds out his role in the wedding just get larger.  Can he help with the sister of the groom?  Sure..... just as soon as he finds out who the hot chick is that he saw in the lobby. Sophie has been making changes.  Her "new" self is going to be more assertive, and certainly more svelte.  Sophie has always kind of had a crush on Logan.  So when he asks her along on his adventures, she feels a pull there to be with him. These characters are so much fun to read.  There is much laughter, and lots of heat.  I found this story really packed a punch.  Each MC brought something that made this story just that much more.  Such a great addition...

This is book #3, in  The Hartigans series.   This book can be read as a standalone novel.  To avoid spoilers, and to understand the series, I recommend reading these in order. Fallon gets suckered into taking care of a spoiled hockey player when he is ill.  Her friends and family think its funny since she loves hockey and is a nurse.  Being attracted to the big lug isn't what she plans either. Zach does not understand why so many people want to hate on him.  All hockey player have off days, even some off seasons.  Why is it someone wants him to suffers so much?  Then an angel comes to make him better with her bitter tongue.  If only he didn't want to see his torturer naked. This battle of wills turns into such a great story for the two most hardheaded characters!  I loved the banter, so fun and witty.  Lots of heat and more people from the great series and families that make this such a good book.  I enjoyed this ...

This is book #3, in the Daring Divorcees series.   This book can be read as a standalone novel.  For reader enjoyment, I recommend reading the entire series. Evelyn seems like she has a pretty great life.  Being a TV producer has its ups and downs, but overall she likes it.  Her best friend is a hunky firefighter and that is a big plus too.   Owen has wanted to be more in Evelyn's life.  Being her best friend is a perk, but he is always wishing for that "extra" chance.  Will he take it when it arrives? Sloane goes into Galen's pub daily.  He has the best WI-FI and cell service.  The only way she can stay in touch with her life in the States.  She tells him her ideas to improve his pub while she is there.  He very much hates that she has all these ideas.  He is annoyed by these daily conversations. Zoe loves her job.  She has come a long way but her life is now in a good place.  Until she crashes in front of Connor.  Somehow him taking care of her puts everything in a new light. Connor has always wanted Zoe.  She has no idea how he wants her.  When he has the chance to be with her, he has no problem taking it.  It's the after he is afraid of.
