Blog Tour # 1 - DESIRED w/Review

About Desired:

Miranda March wears her extraordinary beauty like a mask to conceal her emotional vulnerability. A successful small businesswoman, she might appear to be in control of her universe, but ever in the back of her mind is the one thing that can yank the rug out from under her at any moment: Her mother who suffers from mental illness.

Enter handsome, sensual—and rich—Harvey (Tack) Tackett, a friend of a friend, in town overnight on business. The instant they meet, Miranda feels a connection that stirs her to break one of the rules she lives by—no foolish flings with men passing in the night. After a night of passionate lovemaking like she’s never known, profound emotions emerge. She believes the feeling is mutual. But Tack leaves town without so much as a call and she hears no more from him. As she struggles to overcome her disappointment, she learns her mother has sunk into a depression that calls for immediate attention. Miranda has no choice but to move Mom in to live with her. Her life will never be the same.

From out of the blue, Tack reappears. But it’s too late. Miranda is committed to her duty to her mother. Trying to have a romantic relationship with Tack or any man would be as hard as mixing oil and water. She has already tried and failed at that. Can she solve the conundrum and find a happy-ever-after with Tack?

Miranda meets Tack at an open house where she works.  The immediate attraction is sizzling between them.  Where the very live wire of interest and sexual spark is like a living thing between them.

She dutifully shows him the choices of condos.  Including the penthouse, where they stall for time and a bit of flirting.  She is overwhelmed by her feelings for him.  Very aware he is the type of man she can fall for, she steers the conversation more professional.

Tack surprises her by coming back later to tell her of his interest.  He believes they both know what they want so why not have it?  She worries it would make her seem cheap and easy.  She is supposed to work here, after all.  Yet it seems he does not want to take a "no" for an answer.

While they both feel the attraction and sizzle and turn up the heat between them - is there even a future for her with a man who is as wild as his nature?  Miranda has her own past with problems and family that drag her down.  Can the two of them see beyond the passion to what they could hold in their hand?  Both of the being hurt in the past has made them fear to trust.

A rich story with complex characters.  I loved the way the characters seemed to be fated to come together.  Good story and interesting start to the series.  I am eagerly awaiting the next book!  I give this story a 4/5 Kitty's Paws UP!

She has always been a voracious reader. As a child, she participated in storytelling competitions. As she grew older, she competed in writing contests. At some point, she developed an ambition to write fiction, but life got in the way. She left Texas for many years and lived in four of the western states, a rich experience she’ll never forget. Post topic: Music

I enjoy music. Like many kids, I took piano lessons. I took guitar lessons. I took singing in school and was in the choir at one point. Though I’ve often thought of creating playlists to follow the stories in my books, I have never taken the time to do it.

Having said all of that, I would add that I’m unable to write to music. I know many authors are inspired by music. For me, it’s just too distracting, especially if there are lyrics. I do listen to CDs of sounds that are supposed to be soothing, such as ocean waves, gentle breezes, falling rain, etc., etc. And I have a couple of CDs of orchestra music that is supposed to stimulate your creative brain. Whether it does, I don’t know. All I know is my most productive writing time is early in the morning when there isn’t a sound. During those times, I’m able to become absorbed by what I’m writing. I can be totally in the moment.
