Reagan Sanders and Alex McCray have been hot for one another for years. Alex is feeling like he wants to take a chance with Reagan, only to remind himself that her former husband died saving him. Reagan is trying to start over after a miserable marriage and is being looked down upon for not grieving louder and longer.
Alex and Reagan cannot stop the chemistry that pulls them together. Their attraction is very strong and you feel it from the very first page. They both have things from the past that are coming back to haunt them, and their relationship is too new to maybe weather the secrets that are just now coming to light.
Alex has a lot of guilt about the promises he made to his buddy. Reagan just wants to create the future she was robbed of in her former relationship. She has been hurt quote a bit both physically and emotionally and it makes it hard for them to compromise.
Reagan has just one good friend it seems. Unless you count Alex. Can they share love enough to one another to override the hurts of the past? Is love enough? Can you get rid of guilt if you love hard enough?
This story is very moving and sincere. My only issue with it was the very meek and wounded heroine that just needed to toughen up. I know that sounds harsh, but I just felt glimpses from her character as I was reading that there will soon be hell to pay. I give this book a 3.5/5 Kitty's Paws UP!
