Author Interview at Kitty's Book Spot!.
Hi 2kasmom! So happy to be here today, thanks for having me!!!
Your book is about a race car driver. Are you a NASCAR fan or INDY fan yourself?
*I’ve become a fan writing this book. I was very much like Viv at the start of the story—I didn’t understand or appreciate racing. This book was going to be about a baseball player, but an editor suggested car racing. It was the right move and I fell in love with it. The culture and setting of racing in this book becomes its own world and it’s just a blast!
What was the first book you remember getting excited about?
*I’m sure there were a ton when I was little, but I was in deep with the Harry Potter series, The Hunger Games, and Divergent.
Are there any secrets about you that you are willing to let our readers know?
*Gosh, I don’t know. I’m not all that exciting. Okay, I’ve mentioned that I was a dancer in my previous life before, but I was actually an NFL cheerleader as well. It was a ton of fun!
If you could be any animal for a day - what would be it be?
*My dog. She is so spoiled and has a great life!
Do you like to listen to music while you write?
*I like to listen to music before I write. Once I start, I usually need silence.
Has music ever inspired you to write a specific scene?
*Sure. For Caught, I listened to a lot of songs from the TV show Nashville.
